WHAT IS IT?

Skin tag is a small, harmless growth on the skin that is connected by a stalk to the skin. They are usually present in eyelids, neck, groin and underarms.

Causes ?

Skin tags appears in places where there is cloth to skin or skin to skin friction. Skin tags are also caused due to genetic reasons and is more prominent in people with diabetes and obesity.

Treatment ?

Removal of skin tags can be done by cutting them using blades and then freezing them with liquid nitrogen. Tiny skin tags can be removed without anesthesia while larger ones require local anesthesia. In electrocautery, the skin tags can be burned off using electrolysis.
